Gordon Newman, Chairman
Gordon is a well-known and highly respected figure in the Lloyd’s Market. He founded Newman Martin and Buchan LLP in 1987 and oversaw its development as one of the most successful independent Lloyd’s Brokers, specialising in Energy, Marine and Coverholder business.
The NMB Group was sold to Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (later rebranded as the Ed. Group) in 2013, where Gordon became C.E.O. of the combined Lloyd’s Broker businesses. Subsequently Gordon joined Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers Limited as Executive Chairman, where he became Head of the Ardonagh Group’s Specialty Division which includes Bishopsgate and Price Forbes Limited. He retired from Ardonagh in 2018. Gordon is a founding partner of Newman Pearce & Partners (Holding) LLP.
Neil Pearce, C.E.O.
Neil spent 20 years at Windsor Partners LLP (now part of the Hyperion Group) where he was Managing Director. In 2016 he joined Towergate London Markets, a small Lloyd’s Broker, with a mandate to create a stand-alone London wholesale broker. As part of this strategy it was rebranded as Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers where Neil was C.E.O. Bishopsgate achieved exponential growth and became part of the Ardonagh Group in 2018 following corporate restructuring. Neil is a founding partner of Newman Pearce & Partners (Holding) LLP.
Colin Rogers, C.O.O.
Colin started his career working for Gordon Newman at NMB, where he subsequently served as a Main Board Director and Compliance Officer. He left NMB in 2003 to establish a Lloyd’s Managing Agency with two colleagues from the market. This was sold in 2006 to one of its capital providers and Colin returned to NMB. Following the sale to Ed, Colin served as a Main Board member and Chief Risk Officer of the Lloyd’s Broker. In August 2017 he joined Bishopsgate as C.O.O.
